Another Amazing Trip to Tawas!

Once again, Tawas came through for us! We kited 5 out of 5 days! A couple of the days were thanks to the Ozone Zephyr, a 17m light wind specific kite. It made non-kiteable days kiteable. We were jumping and cruising upwind with ease while all the other kiters were sitting on the beach.

On Monday and Tuesday we had fantastic conditions and we were able to use the new 9m C4 with the new Crazy Fly boards, super fun!

Everyone did super well and it was incredibly fun on and off the water!

My first time kiting while holding a camera, sorry a little shaky. Jason is on both videos, once with the blue Solo and then on the orange 9m C4 while I was using the white 11m Ozone C4. So fun to see Jason going upwind and everyone doing so well!

I gotta make it up there one day. Loosk like TONS of flat water and you guys always hit at least a few days of good wind up there! The crew going up seems to grow everytime!

Thought I'd post a few more pics that I just downloaded from our Brazilian friend, Marco. Marco just went back to Brazil and we all miss having him here. We'll have to plan that snowkite trip this winter with Marco and his 15 Brazilian friends.

As a kiter in the Chicago area, it helps if you are willing to explore. There are many beautiful beaches throughout IL, WI, IN and MI. Wind direction varies daily and there are very localized weather systems. Here is a little more info on that:

The Chicago kiting scene is fun and full of very active kiters, a great group of people. If you are planning on heading out kiting be sure to post even if no one else has because many people look at the forum. You can get advice on where it may be good that day and you will probably find people that would also like to go.
